Grant Park, North/South Between Monroe Avenue and Balbo Drive, East/West Between Michigan Avenue and Lake Shore Drive
Mustard-fried catfish, pickle on a stick, cheesecake, spinach stuffed pizza, a rib-eye steak sandwich, etc., etc. etc. All of these specialties – from more than 70 Chicago restaurants – set up shop at “The Taste” every year – the big daddy of Chicago summer festivals. The Taste of Chicago is by far Chicago's biggest event. A huge array of food, as well as various bands, entertainment, and family draw over 3 million people each year.
Getting its start as a modest food festival on the Fourth of July in 1980, the Taste of Chicago has grown to be the world's largest outdoor food fest – a gastronomical extravaganza featuring "Portions” – cheaper, mini-bites of restaurant favorites, perfect for "grazing."

You’ll never run out of places to go or people to see in Chicago. With five major sports teams, more than a dozen theatres and concert halls, and festivals that celebrate virtually every holiday, food, and music genre, it hard to decide what to do. A little bit of this...a little of that. You really should buy a South Shore Line 10-ride ticket to come back for more and take it all in!
