Ticket Refunds

To receive reimbursement for an unused ticket or if the SSL is providing refunds for one-way tickets due to an extensive delay, you will need to mail your ticket to:

NICTD
Attn: Refunds
503 North Carroll Avenue
Michigan City, IN 46360

*Please include your name, address and phone number with the ticket.

If you would like to request reimbursement for a ticket purchased through the South Shore mobile app, please contact App Support via the app by selecting "More" in the menu options, and "App Support" from the HELP section.

*One-way tickets expire 90 days from date of purchase. Multiple ride tickets expire one year from date of purchase. Monthly paper tickets expire at noon on the first business day of the following month. Electronic monthly tickets expire at midnight on the last calendar day of the month.

*Unused tickets offered for redemption must be mailed or surrendered to a SSL ticket agent no later than the first weekday (excluding holidays) following the expiration limit of the ticket to retain any redemption value. Refunds for Monthly Tickets will be based on when ticket is surrender to South Shore Line. Any value will be calculated using the 25-ride pro-rated cost. Typically monthly tickets lose any refund value after the 15th business day of the month. Multiple Ride unused tickets, or portions thereof, will be redeemed on the basis of the difference between the one-way fare for each ride used and the amount originally paid for the ticket.
